This fourth annual Invita Perú gastronomic festival will take place from July 25th through August 3rd, with S/10 entry tickets already available through Teleticket.
This year's theme is the colonial epoch, which means that you will be able to enjoy sweets of yesteryear such as picarones, squash fritters, and suspiro limeña, a layered dessert of duclce de leche and merengue.
In deference to the theme, the fair will be decorated and peopled with traditional characters from Lima's past, as written about by Ricardo Palma and drawn by Pancho Fierro.
The star ingredient will be the potato, a native product of Peru, which boasts more than 3,000 varieties. In celebration of this, free ‘master classes' will focus on the potato.
99 booths will showcase some of the best food and sweets available in the city's restaurants and huariques, street stands and homes, sweet shops, and bars. The categories include

San Juan de Dios NGO will be participating with anchovy burgers, and another vendor will be offering spit-roasted guinea pig (cuy a la brasa) for the first time.
The outdoor concerts scheduled thus far include such Peruvian favorites as Marisol, Los Hermanos Yaipén and Bareto.
During the fair's duration, 150,000 thousand people are expected to attend, which would account to a 25% increase over last year.
Those interested in sampling some of the fair's delights should visit the well-known Parque de la Exposición (on the corner of Av 28 de Julio and Av Garcilazo de la Vega) between 10am and 10pm.
