In the Amazonas Region in northern Peru is located a citadel of pre - Inca that rugged geography and all the mystery that holds the place of its construction is compared with the citadel of Machu Picchu in the Cusco region.

Until last year to reach this citadel - Kuelap - it was necessary to take a walk of about 4 hours from the village of Nuevo Tingo, which was not very recommended during the rainy season, which was not visited by the vast majority of tourists.

To enhance the tourism activity in the region and to increase visits to the citadel of Kuelap, the year 2014 work began to install the first Cable Car of Peru, last year was inaugurated this work and transported around 2000 thousand tourists since its opening.

Thanks to this system of cable car now you can visit Kuelap in a single day, on the basis of Chachapoyas from where you can take a bus to Nuevo Tingo, a village from where the cable car on a journey of 20 minutes on the mountains and the New River Tingo.

The cable car will leave only a 20-minute walk from the entrance to the citadel for you after you pay your entry fee to visit the sacred precincts, shrines and platforms that form this citadel.

This system is one of the first in Peru to facilitate access to important archaeological centers and support to the economy and to ensure a sustainable tourism for each one of the regions of Peru.
