Detailed Itinerary: Day by Day
Day 1:
La Paz / Copacabana / Sun Island / Copacabana / La Paz
07:00–07:30 a.m. | Hotel Pickup and Departure to Copacabana
We will pick you up from your hotel in La Paz and travel by local bus to Copacabana. The journey takes approximately 3.5 hours, offering beautiful views of the Andes and the Cordillera Real.
11:30 a.m. | Arrival in Copacabana
Upon arrival, we will visit Copacabana, a charming lakeside town renowned for the Basilica of Our Lady of Copacabana, home to the revered image of the Virgin Mary. You will enjoy a traditional local lunch before continuing the excursion.
01:30 p.m. | Boat Trip to Isla del Sol
After lunch, we will board a shared boat for an approximately 1.5-hour journey across Lake Titicaca to the southern part of Isla del Sol, an island deeply connected to Inca mythology and cultural heritage.
03:00 p.m. | Pilkokaina Archaeological Site
Upon arrival, we will take a walk of approximately 20 minutes to reach the Pilkokaina archaeological site, an important Inca complex traditionally associated with the worship of Inti, the Sun God. During a guided visit, you will learn about the island's historical and cultural significance.
Yumani Stairway and Fountain of Youth
We will continue along the island's traditional stone pathways and descend the famous Yumani Stairway to reach the legendary Fountain of Youth, a site associated with local traditions and beliefs.
04:30 p.m. | Return to Copacabana
We will take the shared boat back to Copacabana, enjoying the scenic views of Lake Titicaca along the way.
Approximately 06:00 p.m. | Departure to La Paz
Upon arrival in Copacabana, we will board the bus back to La Paz.
Important note: The final bus departure from Copacabana at approximately 6:00 p.m. needs to be confirmed with the transport operator. If this is the intended schedule, the boat return time should be coordinated accordingly. Please also confirm whether the bus fare back to La Paz is included in the tour.
