Detailed Itinerary: Day by Day

Day 1: Cusco - Calca - Lares

Our thrilling Lares Biking Adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Cusco at 06:00 a.m., traveling by private support vehicle through the beautiful Sacred Valley to the bustling town of Calca. From here, our transport winds up the high mountain road to the magnificent Lares Pass (Abra de Lares), perched at an impressive 4,461 meters (14,635 feet) above sea level. After a thorough safety briefing and gear check with our professional adventure guides, you will mount your front-suspension mountain bike to begin an epic, adrenaline-fueled downhill ride.

As you descend through a dramatic, deep canyon, you will witness the breathtaking geography of the high Andes, passing by crystal-clear rivers, local farms, and herds of grazing llamas, alpacas, and elusive vicuñas. Along the route, we will make a fascinating stop to explore the unique pre-Inca and Inca ruins of Ancashmarca, a sprawling archaeological site famous for its cylindrical stone chullpas and ancient storehouses (qollqas).

We will continue our exhilarating descent toward the floor of the Sacred Valley, arriving in Calca around midday to enjoy a well-deserved, traditional Peruvian lunch. After a relaxing break to celebrate the ride and pack up our gear, we will board our private transport for the journey back to Cusco, arriving comfortably at your hotel at approximately 07:00 p.m.
