Detailed Itinerary: Day by Day
DAY 1:
Cusco - Santa Teresa - Hidroeléctrica - Aguas Calientes
Our Machu Picchu By Car Tour Program begins approximately between 06:00 and 06:20 a.m. We will pick up all our travelers from their hotels in Cusco in our tourist transport to start our journey toward the Sacred Valley. We will pass through Abra Málaga (4,316 m.a.s.l.), enjoying incredible landscapes and exotic natural scenery until reaching the beautiful valley of Santa Teresa. Along the way, we will make a short stop in Ollantaytambo to buy essentials and have breakfast.
Our bus journey lasts approximately 6 hours, taking us to the edge of the jungle. Upon arrival in Santa Teresa, we continue to Hidroelectrica, where we will enjoy a delicious lunch followed by a short rest before continuing our adventure toward Aguas Calientes.
From Hidroelectrica, we will begin a hike of approximately 3 hours (or take an optional train) to Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu Town, while admiring the impressive mountains and the flow of the Urubamba River.
Upon arrival in this colorful town, we will transfer you to your reserved hotel. After some rest, we will have a brief meeting to coordinate the schedule for the following day. Later, we will go for dinner as a group and enjoy the jungle atmosphere. In the evening, you will have free time to explore the warm town of Aguas Calientes, take photos, or optionally visit the local hot springs.

DAY 2:
Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Aguas Calientes - Cusco
We wake up early to enjoy a delicious breakfast and start the day full of energy. At approximately 5:00 a.m., we begin our journey to the historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. For those seeking an active experience, you can choose the 1-hour uphill hike to the entrance, allowing you to connect with nature and admire the diverse orchids and tropical ferns along the trail, or alternatively, you may choose a more comfortable option by taking the shuttle bus, which takes about 25 minutes to reach the gate.
Once at Machu Picchu, our expert bilingual guide will lead you on an immersive guided tour of approximately 2 hours, exploring the temples and landmarks according to your booked circuit and availability. After completing the official circuit and capturing your unforgettable photos, we regroup around 11:00 a.m. to begin the descent back to Aguas Calientes, where you will have time to enjoy lunch on your own.
Following some free time in town, we head to the station to catch the return train to Hidroeléctrica, or you may choose the scenic riverside walk back as an alternative.
