Detailed Itinerary: Day by Day
Day 1:
Horseback Riding in the Sacred Valley: Maras & Moray
8:30 a.m. – Hotel Pickup and Arrival at the Ranch
Your adventure begins with pickup from your accommodation in Cusco, followed by a scenic drive through the Andean highlands to a ranch near Maras. Upon arrival, you will meet your local horse guide and get acquainted with your Peruvian Paso horse. Before setting off, you will receive a safety briefing and assistance with mounting and adjusting your equipment.
Horseback Riding Across the Maras Plateau
We will begin our ride across the open farmlands of the Maras plateau, surrounded by traditional Andean landscapes and spectacular views of the Vilcanota mountain range and its snow-capped peaks. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere as we follow scenic trails through the countryside.
Visit to the Maras Salt Mines
We will ride toward a viewpoint overlooking the impressive Maras Salt Mines, a remarkable complex of thousands of small salt ponds built into the mountainside. Here, we will dismount and explore the area on foot, admiring the intricate network of terraces where local families continue the traditional process of salt production.
Visit to Moray and Picnic Lunch
Afterward, we will continue on horseback through rural landscapes, passing traditional villages and agricultural fields on our way to Moray. 4:00 p.m. – Return to Cusco
