Detailed Itinerary: Day by Day
DAY 1:
Sacred Valley + Lagoons
Your ultimate off-road experience begins with a hotel pickup in Cusco at 09:00 a.m., traveling by private transport to our adventure base in the rural village of Cruzpata. After a comprehensive safety briefing, an ATV operation demonstration, and a short practice session to get comfortable with the quad bikes, we will kick off our engines and head across scenic dirt roads and wide-open Andean plains toward the stunning Piuray Lagoon. This beautiful high-altitude lake supplies the city of Cusco with fresh water and is steeped in local folklore, including fascinating legends of an ancient city submerged beneath its crystal-clear waters.
From there, we continue riding through spectacular rural trails toward the historic town of Chinchero to visit its remarkable archaeological site, colonial church, and learn firsthand about traditional agricultural practices. Around midday, we will navigate impressive trails beneath the watchful gaze of the sacred Apus (guardian mountain deities) until we reach the shores of Huaypo Lagoon. Here, surrounded by untouched nature and waters famous for their mystical local folklore and cosmic sightings, we will enjoy a delicious, scenic box lunch.
After resting, our journey takes us on a thrilling descent toward the Moray agricultural research complex, where you will explore the massive, concentric circular stone terraces that the Incas used to domesticate and acclimatize diverse crop species from the Andes and the Amazon basin. We will then ride toward the spectacular Maras Salt Mines, parking our ATVs at the designated security checkpoint to walk among the thousands of ancient, hand-carved salt pools that local families still harvest today using traditional methods. Finally, we remount our quad bikes for a thrilling concluding ride toward the lesser-known archaeological site of Checco before returning to our base in Cruzpata, where our private transport will be waiting to bring you comfortably back to your hotel in Cusco after an action-packed day of adventure and heritage.

Cusco is a city meant to be explored on foot. Every street holds a story, and as you walk, you feel as though you aren't just "visiting" a city, but rather walking through layers of a living past: the Inca world and the Spanish Baroque, seamlessly blended in stone. That is why, if it is your first time in Cusco, the historic center is one of the best ways to kick off your trip. Additionally, sitting at around 3,400 meters 11,150 feet above sea level, a relaxed stroll helps you acclimate to the altitude, making you feel much better before taking on longer or more demanding excursions.

If you're lucky enough to visit the land of the Incas in June, you'll instantly realize that Cusco brings more to the table than just music, traditional dances, and colorful parades. There’s something else in the air—a rich, savory, and roasted aroma wafting from the main plazas, drawing both locals and travelers to lively, makeshift dining tables.
