Detailed Itinerary: Day by Day
Day 1:
Cusco - Chinchero - Moray - Maras Salt Ponds - Huaypo and Piuray Lagoons
We will start this adventure by picking you up from your Hotel in Cusco at 09:00 am to direct us in our mobility to Cruzpata, a beautiful town where our guide and the ATVs will be waiting for us along with all the necessary security equipment.
After a brief talk, demonstration of proper use and having practiced we will start the tour on our ATVs.
We will cross paths and extensive pampas until we reach the Piuray lagoon, an important and beautiful lagoon that supplies the city of Cusco with water for daily consumption. The Piuray lagoon has peculiar stories that have passed down from generation to generation among the most outstanding ones of a city that was submerged under its waters.
We will continue to the town of Chinchero where we can visit its archaeological center, museum, colonial church and we can also interact with some people who will show us and teach some techniques of soil tillage.
Around noon we will continue through impressive paths always surrounded by the Apus tutelares (Andean deities) until we reach the Huaypo lagoon where we will enjoy a delicious box lunch surrounded by nature and the lagoon that if you are interested or believe in UFOs this place will like you
After enjoying this beautiful place we will begin the descent towards the archaeological center of Moray where we will be able to appreciate its imposing circular platforms where diverse species of products of the Andes and the South American jungle were cultivated.
We will continue to the salt mines of Maras where we will appreciate hundreds of salt pools from where salt is currently extracted that is marketed to support the inhabitants‘ economy. We will return to the ATVs after visiting the town of Maras to go to the archaeological center of Checco to finally return to Cruzpata and then return to Cusco.
