Our Sun Island Tour invites you to explore the largest and most sacred island of Lake Titicaca, regarded as the mystical birthplace of the Inca civilization. Departing from La Paz to Copacabana, we will visit the Pilkokaina archaeological complex, a temple dedicated to the Sun God Inti, and descend the Yumani stairs to the famous Fountain of Youth. We will also explore the Chinkana in the northern sector, where legends about the birth of Andean gods come to life. It is a profound cultural experience combining navigation, archaeology, and a night tour through the charming town of Copacabana, ensuring flawless logistics, safe transportation, and specialized local guides throughout your journey across the Sacred Lake.

Detailed Itinerary: Day by Day
Day 1:
La Paz / Copacabana / Southern Sun Island
We'll pick you up at your La Paz hotel or hostel around 7:30-8:00am and then depart by tourist-class bus for Copacabana. Over the 3½ hour trip we'll be treated to wonderful views of the Andean Range known as the Cordillera Real- the Royal Range. At around noon we'll arrive at Copacabana and head first to the hotel so that you can accommodate your things. From there, we'll go for a delicious lunch characteristic of the area.
After lunch, around 1:30pm we'll set off in a shared motorboat for Sun Island. For the next hour and a half we'll cruise over the flat waters of the large and diverse Lake Titicaca.
Upon arriving at Sun Island, there'll be a 20 minute trek to the ruins of Pilcocaina Archeological Center, a mysterious site dedicated to the worship of Inti, the Sun God and supreme deity. Our guide will teach us about the island and the ruins.
From there, we'll descend the stone steps of Yumani Stairway to the Fountain of Youth, following the same path the Inca took.
In the evening we'll have our dinner and spend the night on the island.

Day 2:
Northern Sun Island / Southern Copacabana
In the morning we'll have breakfast and then we'll begin trekking an original Inca trail that will take us from the southern Sun Island to the northern side. It will take us half the day to arrive at Chinkana Archeological Complex, where the guide will show us such sites as the Sacred Rock and the Labyrinth.
After the tour we'll return by boat to the southern side of Sun Island, and around 4:30pm we'll head back across Lake Titicaca to Copacabana. Upon our arrival around 6:00 in the evening, we'll have dinner together and then have the evening free.
