Detailed Itinerary: Day by Day
DAY 1:
Cusco - Urubamba - Ollantaytambo - Cusco
Morning Pickup & Scenic Drive (08:30 a.m.): Your adrenaline-fueled day begins with a pickup from your hotel in Cusco in our comfortable tourist transportation. We will depart toward the Sacred Valley, enjoying a scenic 1-hour and 15-minute drive featuring panoramic views of the towering Andean mountain range and picturesque colonial villages along the route.
Gear Up & Professional Safety Briefing: Upon arrival at our private river putting-ground along the Urubamba River (also known as the Vilcanota River), our specialized, swift-water rescue certified guides will welcome you. You will be outfitted with top-tier professional gear (wetsuit, life jacket, helmet, and paddle) and receive a comprehensive safety and first-aid briefing, covering paddling commands and river rescue techniques.
Conquering the Rapids: We then launch into the river, starting with calmer, smooth water sections where you can practice your paddling strokes while admiring the stunning valley scenery, dominated by towering mountains, native vegetation, and ancient Inca agricultural terraces. As the river narrows, the action begins as we navigate exciting Class II and III rapids, featuring fun waves, drops, and swirling whirlpools.
Seasonal River Levels Note: Please note that during the dry season (May to December), the river features consistent, fun Class II and III rapids. During the rainy season (January to April), water volumes increase significantly, turning the river into an adrenaline-pumping Class IV and IV+ experience. Depending on the river's conditions, an additional professional safety kayaker and support guide will accompany the group to ensure maximum international safety protocols.
Andean Lunch & Return to Cusco (05:00 p.m.): After approximately 2 hours of exhilarating navigation, we will pull out of the river. You will have the opportunity to dry off and enjoy a delicious, hot lunch featuring traditional Peruvian and Cusco cuisine—the perfect way to restore your energy. Finally, we board our transport and return to Cusco through the changing landscapes of the Sacred Valley, arriving back at your accommodation at approximately 05:00 p.m.

If you're lucky enough to visit the land of the Incas in June, you'll instantly realize that Cusco brings more to the table than just music, traditional dances, and colorful parades. There’s something else in the air—a rich, savory, and roasted aroma wafting from the main plazas, drawing both locals and travelers to lively, makeshift dining tables.
After four years and US$1.5 million, the restoration of the Church of San Pedro in the remote Andean village of Andahuaylillas, a priceless colonial art treasure showcasing the "Andean Baroque", has been completed. With the backing of the World Monuments Fund and regional and national authorities, restorers tackled the ill effects of earthquakes, shoddy restorations, centuries of grime and even bat droppings.
