Detailed Itinerary: Day by Day
Day 1:
Cusco - Urubamba - Ollantaytambo - Cusco
8:30 AM – Hotel Pickup and Transfer to the Sacred Valley
Begin your adventure with pickup from your hotel in Cusco. Travel by private transportation to our riverside base in Urubamba, approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes away. Enjoy scenic views of the Andes and the picturesque towns of the Sacred Valley along the way.
Safety Briefing and Equipment Fitting
Upon arrival at our private launch site on the Vilcanota River, your professional rafting guide will explain essential paddling commands, river safety procedures, and emergency protocols. You will then receive your rafting equipment, including a wetsuit, helmet, life jacket, and windbreaker.
Rafting on the Urubamba River
Start with calm stretches of the river to practice paddling techniques and become familiar with your guide's commands. Then, get ready to navigate exciting white-water rapids. Depending on the season and river conditions, rapids may range from Class II and III during the dry season to Class IV or higher during the rainy season.
During approximately two hours on the river, admire the surrounding Andean landscapes and enjoy an exciting outdoor experience. A safety kayak will accompany the group throughout the rafting activity.
Andean Buffet Lunch and Return to Cusco
After completing the rafting adventure, return to the base and enjoy a delicious buffet lunch featuring local cuisine, accompanied by soft drinks and hot beverages. Finally, board your private transportation back to Cusco, with arrival expected at approximately 5:00 PM.
