Detailed Itinerary: Day by Day
DAY 1:
Historic Iquitos, River Navigation & Welcome to Cumaceba
Iquitos City Tour & Rubber Boom Heritage: We begin our Amazon journey by picking you up from the airport or your hotel in Iquitos for a walking city tour of the main highlights, including the Plaza de Armas, the main church, the famous Iron House, and several historic mansions from the prosperous rubber boom era.
Sailing the Mighty Amazon River: After the city tour, we will board our motorized boat and navigate for about 15 minutes along the Itaya River until we enter the mighty Amazon River, the largest in the world by volume. We will continue our scenic navigation until arriving at the Cumaceba Curaka Inn. During the journey, with a bit of luck, we may spot beautiful gray and pink dolphins.
Lodge Arrival & Amazonian Birdwatching: Upon arrival, you will be welcomed with a traditional exotic drink made from seasonal fruits. After settling into your room and enjoying a brief rest, we will embark on a guided excursion to explore the rich biodiversity of flora and fauna typical of the Peruvian Amazon. We will savor a traditional local lunch and enjoy free time to photograph and film exotic birds.
Jungle Night Walk & Amphibian Spotting: We will return to the lodge to enjoy a delicious dinner before heading out on an exciting night walk. Under the moonlight, we will observe unique insects, amphibians, and nocturnal birds while listening to the mysterious sounds of the rainforest.

DAY 2:
Prehistoric Birds, Wildlife Rescue & Amazonian Campfire
Early Morning Birdwatching & The Unique Hoatzin: We begin our second day very early, venturing out either on foot or by boat (depending on the season) for sunrise birdwatching. This is the absolute best time to spot a wide variety of exotic species, including the legendary Hoatzin (Shansho), famous for being the only ruminant bird in the world. Afterward, we return to the lodge for an energizing breakfast.
Wildlife Rescue Center & Artisanal Sugarcane Mill: We will visit a local rescue center to interact responsibly with incredible Amazonian species such as boa constrictors, anacondas, sloths, and prehistoric turtles. During this excursion, we will also visit a traditional sugarcane facility to learn about the artisanal extraction of sugarcane juice, where you can participate in the process and taste local molasses and traditional beverages.
Traditional Amazonian Lunch - Patarashca: At midday, we return to the lodge to enjoy a delicious and authentic lunch featuring Patarashca, a celebrated regional dish of fresh fish seasoned with local spices and grilled inside wild bijao leaves.
Cultural Visit to "Gallito" Village & Amazon Sunset: In the afternoon, we will visit the riverside village of “Gallito” to experience the authentic Amazonian lifestyle, sharing meaningful time with local families. If weather permits, we will witness a spectacular, unforgettable sunset over the Amazon River.
Dinner & Amazonian Campfire Stories: An exquisite dinner will be served at the lodge. To conclude the perfect day, we will gather around a cozy jungle campfire to share impressions, relax, and listen to mystical myths and ancient legends of the Amazon rainforest told by our local guides.

DAY 3:
Amazonian Fishing & Giant Trees Exploration
Morning Sport Fishing & Giant Water Lilies: We will begin our third day in the Amazon with a fresh breakfast at the lodge. Our first activity will be exciting sport fishing along the banks of the Amazon River, where, with some luck, we may catch piranhas, catfish, and other native species. We will also have the unique chance to observe the Victoria Regia, the largest aquatic plant in the world—its massive leaves are famous for being able to support up to 4 kg (9 lbs) in weight.
Midday Lunch & Lodge Relaxation: We will return to the lodge for a delicious regional lunch. Afterward, enjoy some well-deserved relaxation time in the peaceful hammock area or take a refreshing dip by the lodge’s swimming pool.
Pre-Sunset Botanical Walk (The Sacred Lupuna): Before sunset, we will explore the surrounding area on a guided botanical walk, observing towering Amazonian trees such as cedar, the historic rubber tree, and the impressive Lupuna—the giant, sacred tree of the rainforest.

DAY 4:
Deep Jungle Trekking & Riverside Camping Experience
Morning Trek into the Pristine Rainforest: We will begin the day with a delicious breakfast before getting ready to venture deep into the pristine rainforest, enjoying the rich, untouched local flora and fauna. We will hike for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes until we reach a scenic jungle spot where a fresh lunch will be prepared outdoors.
Expedition to the Yanayacu River: After lunch, we will continue our trek toward the majestic Yanayacu River, a prime location known for its deep jungle ecosystem. Upon arrival, we will set up our wilderness camp and prepare for an unforgettable night.
Overnight in Protected Tents: You will spend the night deep in the heart of the Amazon, sleeping safely inside our professional tents fully equipped with mosquito nets for your absolute comfort.
Riverside Dinner & Nocturnal Symphony: A freshly made dinner will be served right by the riverbank. To conclude this extraordinary day, we will relax by the water while enjoying the mystical nocturnal sounds of nature as the rainforest comes alive under the moonlight.

Midday Lunch & Departure Preparation: We will return to the main lodge for a satisfying local lunch. You will then have some free time to rest, enjoy the facilities, and prepare your belongings for the journey back to the city.
Cultural Immersion at the Bora Native Community: Before heading back to Iquitos, we will make a special stop at the Bora community. Here, we will be warmly welcomed by the locals, who will introduce us to their vibrant culture, ancient lifestyle, traditional dances, and unique handicrafts.
